Impacts

Billie Jean King was the first female athlete to advocate for women's rights. King used her platform as a tennis player to promote her views on female equality. Billie Jean Kings movement changed the pace of women's tennis and women's rights all over the country. Her win inspired others to fight for what's right, and fight for equality. Women began asking for pay raises and pushed for more opportunities in the workplace. The Impact on adult men was less dramatic than on the young boys who watched the match. On man said "You don't realize it, but I saw that match at 12. And now I have two daughters, and it has made a difference in how I raise them."  The man who said that was President Obama. This one match completely shifted the view of women in men's eyes.  In the process of her accomplishments, Billie Jean King gave confidence to other women around the globe. Her passion to fight for equality of women inspired others to do the same. Billie Jean's efforts impacted the women's rights movement along with the social inequalities in society.
